Cabins Located in a scenic, secluded
setting in rural Guernsey County, our cabins are a perfect getaway for
Romantics, Hikers, Golfers, Hunters, Horse back
riding and Fisher Folks alike. Timberline is adjacent to Salt
Fork State Park, Ohio’s adult playground and the ultimate family
atmosphere. Timber Line Cabin have fully
equipped kitchens, including toaster, coffee maker, full size fridge,
gas stove and all amenities needed for cooking and grilling. All cabins
sleep six comfortably (with eight being a possibility with a
sofa-sleeper), and bed linens are
provided. A wood burning fireplace & a private bonfire pit are
available with each cabin, including a grill and picnic table. Cabins
are heated and air conditioned.

Many folks prefer to escape the
rigors of everyday life in the serenity of a state park; there areas as ideal. A variety
of recreational activities beckons, while the quiet atmosphere of nature prevails.
These smaller parks preserve a
wealth of Ohio’s natural history. Mature woodlands in parks such as Mt. Gilead and
Findley
blaze with color in autumn and harbor myriad wildflowers in the spring. Kiser Lake boasts wet areas with unusual flora, vestiges
of the Pleistocene Ice Age. Prairie plants at Stonelick
reflect a time when the climate was warmer and the tallgrass prairies of the west
encroached upon Ohio’s forest lands.
Cultural history is well documented
in areas such as Malabar Farm, where Pulitzer
prize-winning author Louis Bromfield’s thirty-two-room mansion is maintained just as
it was when he died in 1956. The working farm depicts historic as well as modern
agricultural practices.
The relatively small campgrounds in
most of these parks are favorites. A restored barn at Barkcamp
plays host to nature programs, while the camp area at Lake
White nestles in the bed of the old Ohio & Erie Canal.
