Ohio Ceramic Center
Clay deposits in the Zanesville, Roseville, and Crooksville area encouraged settlers to manufacture ceramic products here early in the 19th century. The industry grew during the late 19th century as local potteries turned to the production of highly decorative pieces. This "art pottery" remained popular until the 1920's. It is highly collectable today. While visiting the Ohio Ceramic Center you will find these potteries represented: Alpine, Brush, Burley Winter, Cookson, Crooksville China Company, Friendship, Gonder, Hull, LePere, Longaberger, McCoy, Queen, Robinson-Ransbottom, Rockingham, Roseville, Shawnee, Star Stoneware, Ungemach, Watt, Weller, Worthington, works from local artist-Betty Ford, and a collection of bricks from National Brick Collectors Association.
